Overkill Software, the studio responsible for Payday 3, has experienced times of distress due to the financial situation of Starbreeze Studios, its parent company. The third installment was announced a long time ago, but it was only in the last few months that the video game situation became clearer. Now, in a dedicated tenth anniversary stream, the developer has confirmed that the action will take place in New York City, in a big world.
According to PC Gamer, this new chapter in the co-op shooter will take place in a New York City they want to feel “alive” and “huge.” Game director Erik Wonnevi clarified this and said he wants to explore the contrast between what happens before and after the flight. Before, people lived in their daily reality, but then chaos takes over. To illustrate, the creation showed two items that show the before and after (below).
Back from the golden retreat
