Starbreeze celebrated 10 years of the Payday franchise with a very long stream during which we learned some details about Payday 3. According to Erik Wonnevi, Game Director on the project, the game will take place a few years after the end of the second installment and will see the original gang forced to come out of retirement to face a new threat. The world having changed in ten years, the game will incorporate new elements, such as mass surveillance tools, crypto-currencies, the Dark Web… In short, the digital age will influence the dangers and tools that our famous robbers will encounter. Moreover, even though the gang is not geographically limited, Payday 3 will start right in New York, with the studio intending to give the impression of being in a large urban and living world.

Payday 3 is still at the very beginning of its development, the title not due out until 2023, and Starbreeze has only been able to share a few pieces of art without much interest. But hey, for license fetishists who would like to have their favorite gangster printed on a pillowcase, I’ll share them with you anyway:
