Payday 3: Network Issues and Negative User Reviews – Will Starbreeze Studios Drop the Online Requirement?

(PressFire.no): “Payday 3” was released last week, but not everything has gone according to plan for Swedish Starbreeze Studios.

The game has been plagued by major network issues, and players have complained of huge queues to get into the game – even when playing alone against computer-controlled opponents.

It is not possible to play the game if you are not connected online, and on Starbreeze’s servers – which are struggling.

This has meant that the game is now on Steam marked with “mostly negative” user reviews, where almost 70 percent of players have given the game a thumbs up.

– Imagine waiting an hour and ten minutes and still not being able to get into a private game, writes Decoy Felinferno on Steam.

– How can you release a game that nobody gets to play? This stupid online-only crap is literally unplayable, writes Ender.

– Payday 3: Main Menu Simulator, writes another sarcastically.

Or as hoggZ writes: “You can’t spell it”.

Starbreeze has said that they are working on the problems, but now they are going one step further – CEO Tobias Sjögren writes on Twitter / X that they may drop the online requirement.

– We apologize that the infrastructure has not held up as we thought it would, and although it is not possible to prepare for all scenarios, we should make it better, writes Sjögren.

– We have communicated that the team is looking at the possibility of adding some kind of offline mode.
