A mission of hope. This is how they describe the interventions carried out by the so-called Payasonrisas doctors in the different hospitals they visit. They do it as a therapeutic action to contain more than ever the thousands of families of white patients and professionals who are going through a difficult time, and especially a health collapse.

Although the volunteer initiative of the Dr. Payasonrisa Paraguay Foundation has been going on for several years, with the pandemic the service of emotional and spiritual support became indispensable. Dressed in gowns, protectors, red noses and colorful wigs, they try to nuance the gray hours through dances, songs, games, moments of prayer and company for those who camp in the different hospitals in the country for their relatives hospitalized with Covid. In these times they mainly visit health shelters where relatives await news of their loved ones hospitalized. They even started with a tour of the interior of the country. This weekend they reached several hospitals in the Alto Paraná Department. In addition to trying to cheer up the heart, they also bring food close, they try to make the moment as pleasant as possible.Training To be part of the volunteering, the interested persons are trained in the hospital clown, working with laughter therapy, hospital guidelines, pedagogy area in order to produce mental and emotional benefits to patients and their environment.“The idea is to bring that containment, to treat the emotional well-being of the patient, his family and the caregivers. Our motto is that ‘The love revolution begins with a smile’, which has multiple benefits. Within the foundation we also work hard on the spiritual issue because each mission we give to God ”, says Tamara Djundi, representative of the Foundation. Volunteering has been carried out since 2011 and in 2019 the foundation as such is constituted. All services are also coordinated with the Ministry of Public Health.Support forTo fulfill the mission, the foundation receives donations of non-perishable food to bring the shelters closer during the interventions they carry out. They generally offer dinner or a snack. Sweet campaign
From the Toy Hospital, in addition to the daily lunch and dinner dishes that they make as a donation for the hospitals, they also organize a campaign to collect sweet food for the staff in white as a form of support that they seek to carry out in the difficult task they have in intensive care to help Covid-19 patients.
