Pay with a card and win a hundred thousand. The savings bank has its own “receipt”

Česká spořitelna is launching its own version of the receipt lottery. With the new campaign, it wants to further motivate its clients to make non-cash payments. In the next 12 months, he will always distribute 100,000 crowns as the main and only prize.

Every client of Česká spořitelna who automatically makes a card payment in the amount of at least CZK 400 in a given month will automatically participate in the competition, either at a payment terminal in a store or when shopping online. Payments in the amount of one crown at selected Česká spořitelna branches will also be counted. These payments are intended for people who would like to explain how to use a smartphone to pay, for example.

The savings bank will involve a maximum of the first twenty payments of one client per month in the draw, which will always take place at the beginning of the next month. It doesn’t matter if he uses a traditional plastic card or its digital form in a mobile phone, watch or bracelet.

The savings bank has been promising further development of non-cash payments since the event. Already in April, for the first time in history, the volume of card transactions in the savings bank exceeded the volume of cash that its clients withdrew from ATMs.

“During the quarantine, we managed to digitize a third of clients who preferred to pay exclusively in cash before this period. Of the 300,000 clients who still preferred cash to the pandemic, 100,000 began paying regularly with a card during the pandemic, and one in three was over 60, ”says Jan Hailich, payment solutions manager at Česká spořitelna.

“We assume that most of these 100,000 clients will continue to prefer cashless payments and interest in non-cash payments will continue to grow. At the moment, 1.7 million out of 2 million of our primary banking clients prefer cashless payments, ”adds Hailich.

Just for the sake of context, when we mentioned the receipt lottery in the introduction, let us add that it fell victim to coronavirus. The government decided to stop it as part of the savings, and the last draw for the state Bill of Exchange took place in April.
