Jakarta – Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky are expected to attend the G20 Summit in Indonesia next month. This is the first time the two leaders have shared the stage since the war began.
The Indonesian ambassador to the UAE said the two leaders had agreed to attend the summit on November 15 and 16, but neither Russia nor Ukraine responded. The United States has said that if Putin is present, Zelensky should also participate. US President Joe Biden is also likely to hold talks with the Russian president during the summit.
Ukraine and the UAE, which are not members of the organization, have been specially invited to the summit, which is attended by 20 leading countries of the world. Indonesian President Joko Widodo hopes the summit will be a platform for convincing Russia and Ukraine to accept a ceasefire and encourage grain exports. The 2023 Summit will be held in New Delhi.
The Russian offensive in Zaporizhia continues
