President Petr Pavel congratulated Donald Trump on his victory in the US presidential elections. Speaking on X Network during his visit to Switzerland, he said he looked forward to continued cooperation on shared global challenges. During the day, the head of state is also expected to make a statement to Czech journalists in Switzerland.

Republican Trump defeated Democrat Kamala Harris in the election and will return to the White House after four years in January, according to Fox News.

“I value the partnership with the United States and look forward to continuing to work together on shared global challenges, including supporting our common partners and maintaining European security. Our transatlantic bond remains strong,” said Pavel.

Petr Fiala also congratulated Trump on his victory. “Our common goal is to ensure that the relations between our countries remain at the highest level despite the change of administration,” he said about the result of the US election. Relations between the Czech Republic and the United States must continue to develop for the benefit of the citizens of both countries, he wrote.

The leader of the People’s Party, Marek Výborný, believes that the USA will continue to be a key partner of the Czech Republic under the leadership of Donald Trump. The Czech Republic will do everything to ensure that transatlantic relations remain strong, ČTK wrote today. He congratulated Trump on his probable victory in the presidential election and his return to the White House. Americans made a democratic decision, he noted.

The Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Markéta Pekarová Adamová (TOP 09), understands some Czech and European concerns about the return of US President-elect Donald Trump to the White House, but still believes in a good partnership. “Of course, it is proper to congratulate the winner,” said the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies in the Czech Republic. He hopes that the US will not turn away from Ukraine, because Russian aggression against Ukraine affects Europe much more than the US.
