Last Monday, October 25, the entire Metropolitan Region regressed to the Preparation phase due to the increase in coronavirus cases that has been registered in recent weeks. Given this, the Undersecretary of Health, Paula Daza, referred to the situation in the country this Monday morning and the vaccination process which he mentions has “just over 1 million laggards.”

In conversation with 24 Horas, the Undersecretary of Health pointed out that “the group of laggards, We are talking about people over 18 years of age who have not started their vaccination process, they are just over 1 million people, we had recently we had 1 million 200 thousand people. Every day some people over 18 years of age get vaccinated, on average we have seen an average of 5 thousand, 7 thousand people in recent weeks ”.

According to the authority, they expect this number to decrease in the coming weeks, noting that “the health seremis have a series of strategies at the regional, local level,” explaining that “territorial work is being done to reach this group.”

On the occasion, the authority also referred to the booster doses, noting that “with the new measures to encourage people to have their mobility pass, especially that as of December 1, people over 55 years of age will having to count on this booster dose, we hope everyone gets vaccinated ”.

It should be remembered that With the setback in the Step by Step Plan, the capacity changes in different situations, being differentiated for those who have the Mobility Pass, and those who do not.

Finally, regarding the different elements that are taken into account to go back to a commune in the Step by Step Plan, the authority pointed out “we look at all the variables, first of all we are seeing how the number of cases is increasing, that is to say incidence, secondly positivity is a very relevant factor, and especially if that positivity is related to people who have symptoms, the third thing we are looking at, which today seems very important to us, is ICU beds, admission begins to increase to ICU beds, because we know that one of the most important role of the vaccine is to reduce the possibility of being hospitalized and being hospitalized in an ICU bed ”.
