It is now over nine years since Paul Walker lost his life in a nasty car accident in Los Angeles. The actor was only 40 years old.
In May, fans will still see him again in the role of the iconic Brian O’Conner in the concluding “Fast & Furious” chapter “Fast X”.
Touching tribute
In an interview with the British film magazine Total Filmdirector Louis Leterrier explains how it is possible.
– Still alive
Although Walker died, his character lives on in the film series.
– Brian is still alive in the “Fast & Furious” universe, and they have shown small glimpses of him in the previous films as well (after his death, journ. note). In the ninth we also see that his car appears, which is planned, explains Leterrier.
Paul Walker’s daughter got married
Although we saw Brian’s blue Nissan Skyline appear at the end of the movie “F9”, we never got to see Brian himself.
In the upcoming “Fast X” we will see the character in action – there is only one catch.
– This film jumps back and forth in time. You will see Brian in the past, but never in the present. It is something everyone must know about, says Leterrier.
The film thus shows flashbacks from previous films in which Paul Walker plays himself, which you can also see from the film’s latest trailer.
The end of “Fast & Furious” will come in two parts, and for now the first part premieres on 18 May in this country, writes Filmweb.
Special effects
When Walker died, on Saturday 30 November 2013, the filming of “Furious 7” was already underway. To complete this, the production company Universal asked for the help of Walker’s brothers.
According to others, several of the scenes with Walker were Vanity Fair, constructed using computer-animated special effects.
They combined old clips of Walker, scanned images of brothers Cody and Caleb, as well as actor John Brotherton’s body.
Filming was delayed for a year, as a result of Walker’s death.
