Paul Pogba, French national team and player for Juventus Turin, has tested positive in an anti-doping test, according to ANSA, the Italian state news agency.
The French player was subjected to anti-doping control in the first match of Serie A 2023-24, where Vecchia Signora played against Udinese and ended up winning 3-0 for the Turin team.
The Juventus midfielder did not play any minutes in that match, but he was still required to go through control and now that the result was announced, he came out positive for traces of testosterone.
The Italian team made an official press release in which they accept the player’s suspension requested by the National Anti-Doping Court. Now Pogba will be able to appeal in the following days and request a counter-analysis and if the case is confirmed positive, he could be tried by the Italian national anti-doping court.
Disqualification for doping could range from two years to four years if it is proven that the athlete had the intention of doping.
