Paul Pogba formalizes his future return to the field

While he should return to the field in March 2025 after the announcement of the reduction of his suspension, Paul Pogba reacted through a press release after this good news

Paul Pogba will be able to play football again. About a year ago, the Italian anti-doping agency (NADO) revealed that Pogba had tested positive for the doping substance DHEA on August 20, 2023 during the first day of the 2023-24 Serie A against Udinese. The Frenchman, who did not come into play, was tested after the match and was suspended from football activity for four years last February. A huge blow for the French international, who saw the rest of his career darken.

But nevertheless, Paul Pogba (31 years old) had assured that he wanted to continue his career: “If you have not seen one of my interviews where I say that I am retiring, it is because I am not doing it, because I am still feel like a footballer. I want to fight against this injustice. Pogba is not finished, Pogba is here and until you see me saying I am finished, don’t worry. I have an incredible desire to come back, I feel like a child who wants to be professional. I train, I do everything I can to get back on the field,” he explained after his suspension.

Paul Pogba evokes “the end of the nightmare”

And as revealed by the English press, Paul Pogba’s suspension has been reduced from four years to 18 months and the midfielder could return to training with the Bianconeri in January 2025, while his return to competition would be therefore scheduled for March 2025. In a press release, Paul Pogba announced: “Finally, the nightmare is over. Following the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport, I can now envisage the day when I will be able to pursue my dreams again,” first indicated the 2018 World Champion, before detailing his feelings.

“I have always maintained that I have never knowingly violated WADA regulations when I took a nutritional supplement that was prescribed to me by a doctor, and which does not affect or improve the performance of the male athletes. I play with integrity, and although I must accept that this is a strict liability offense, I would like to thank the CAS judges who listened to my explanations. This time has been extremely trying for me, as everything I have worked so hard for has been put on hold. Thanks again for all the love and support. I can’t wait to get back on the pitch,” said Paul Pogba. The end of the nightmare for him.
