(PLO) – Paul Pogba faces a four-year ban from all football activities after the French midfielder’s B test sample also tested positive for a banned substance.
Paul Pogba could be banned from football for four years after his B sample also tested positive on Friday (international time). Juventus club is currently considering Pogba’s future at the team, including terminating the contract.

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has not played for Juventus since he was suspended for failing a doping test. Pogba was randomly selected for doping testing after the “Old Lady’s” 3-0 victory over Udinese on August 20.
Pogba has since been suspended by the Italian national anti-doping court and sample B analysis also tested positive. Italy’s National Anti-Doping Tribunal will now confirm the charge against Pogba, who could face a two to four year ban.
When sample A tested positive, Pogba’s agent Rafaela Pimenta released a statement saying: “We are waiting for the analysis of sample B and until then we cannot say anything. What is certain is that Paul Pogba never wanted to break the rules.”
Juventus is considering the circumstances in resolving Pogba’s contract, as the French player still has nearly 3 years left on his current contract. Pogba rejoined Juventus after leaving MU last summer on a free transfer, but he had difficulty in his first season back at Allianz Stadium because of persistent injuries.
Pogba had to miss about 5 months after undergoing knee surgery. He returned to the Juventus bench in the home match against Monza in January, before suffering another injury, this time a groin injury that kept him out of three Serie A matches.
After coming on as a substitute in the second half of the matches against Torino and AS Roma, Pogba tore his muscle. Pogba played eight more matches in all competitions, including the first half in the Europa League semi-final defeat to Sevilla, where Pogba had his first and only assist of the previous season.
Pogba missed the final four matches last season at Juventus due to a hamstring problem, but returned before this season. In the opening match of the new Serie A season, Pogba sat on the bench throughout the match and was not used in Juventus’ win over Udinese, before he had a total of 50 minutes on the field in two matches against Bologna and Empoli.
Speaking before the match against Torino, Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri admitted he was “sorry” for the situation involving Pogba. “I don’t know the specifics of this information (Paul Pogba tested positive for a banned substance), I’m sorry. We are waiting for what’s going to happen, now it’s useless to comment, I’m very sorry,” the Italian strategist shared.
