Paul McCartney celebrates his 80th birthday, Ringo Starr wished him a reference to the Beatles

It was intended for Paul McCartney, who is celebrating his 80th birthday today. McCartney and Ringo Starr are the last two living members of the band to influence the development of popular music.

“They say it’s your birthday on Saturday,” Ringo Starr began contribution for McCartney, just like in the 1968 song Birthday. He and his wife Barbara Bach told him to “have a lot of fun” with the day. Ringo Starr celebrated his 80th birthday less than two years ago. They remained friends with McCartney even after the band disbanded, and in 2018 they performed with the song Get Back in Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones in London’s O2 arena.

The Independent reports that the recent 80-year-old McCartney will be waiting for the Glastonbury festival in a week, where he will be the main star. He returned from a North American tour a few days ago, during which he performed in several places where he had never played.

In addition to McCartney and Starr, John Lennon and George Harrison were members of The Beatles. If they were still alive, Lennon would be 82 years old and Harrison seventy-nine. Lennon was shot dead by a mentally ill man in New York in December 1980, and Harrison died of cancer in November 2001.
