Paul-Éluard College 3rd Grade Students Create Krézion Pencils for Charity

On Tuesday, fifteen 3rd grade students from Paul-Éluard College met as part of mini-business activities. Louise-Anne Le Gac, teacher, explained the approach: “For several years, 3rd grade students have been invited to create a mini-business to discover the professional world. They have to create the whole structure from a boss to employees and an accountant. This year, Léo is the business manager with Matéo as executive assistant.”

Willow and graphite pencils

The company is called Krézion. “We decided to make pencils with a reclaimed wood handle. The lead is made of compressed graphite, almost unwearable for normal use, indicates the “boss”. The main concern comes from the handle, which the students prepare from willow branches. Computer enthusiasts create a sales site on the internet. The group should offer their product on the sector’s markets from the spring. Once the manufacturing costs have been paid, the remaining profits will be donated to the Rayon de Soleil association, helping families affected by a child’s cancer.
