Award for Katalin Karikó, Özlem Türeci and Uğur Şahin
The vaccine from the Mainz company Biontech was one of the first corona vaccines. Now the biochemist Katalin Karikó and the Biontech founders Özlem Türeci and Ugur Sahin have been awarded the renowned Paul Ehrlich and Ludwig Darmstaedter Prize for their research on mRNA vaccines.
