The Day Hospital – medicine, surgery, obstetrics is a privileged place to avoid traditional hospitalization. The objective of the deployment of this new service is to carry out a medico-psycho-social gerontological assessment by a multi-professional team.
This outpatient care provides diagnosis, reassessment of treatment, standardized geriatric assessment and specialized technical care.
Depending on the result of the diagnostic assessments and therapeutic proposals, the patient will be offered follow-up in outpatient consultations, management in HDJ-Follow-up care and rehabilitation, or, if necessary, complete hospitalization in acute medicine.
The day hospital is made up of a complete multidisciplinary team (geriatricians, nurse, nursing assistants and secretary), other health professionals such as specialist doctors (neurologist, urologist, stomatologist, cardiologist) or teams internal motives (wounds and healing, pain).
Depending on the medical indication, stakeholders (occupational therapist, physiotherapist, teacher in adapted physical activities, psychomotor therapist, social worker, neuropsychologist, psychologist, dietician) also participate in the care of patients as well as in the medical examinations carried out within the plateau. medico-technical of the establishment: vascular ultrasounds, EEG (Electroencephalography), radiological examinations…
