Paul Alcaras Ends Wimbledon Champion’s Winning Streak in Toronto Masters Semifinals

This is the second year that excludes the young Spaniard Paul in Canada, and he put an end to the series of victories of the star crowned with the Wimbledon title.

In a second match, Australian Alex de Minor eliminated Russian Medvedev, with two sets 7-6 (9-7), 7-5.

In the semi-finals, De Minaur will meet Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich, who defeated American Mackenzie McDonald 6-4, 6-2.

It will be the first appearance of the 27-year-old Australian in the semi-finals of one of the Masters tournaments.

Medvedev had won the last seven matches in Toronto, including the 2021. title. But the twenty-seven-year-old fell in the test of the effectiveness of De Minor, who had lost four times out of five confrontations with the giant Russian.
