How promotions and relegations are determined during the season
The 2024 Primera Nacional is made up of 38 teams distributed in two zones of 19 clubs each. They will all play against each other, round-trip, and there will be an inter-zone tournament per date. The top two in each zone will play the final for the first promotion; the teams that finish between 2nd and 8th place will play a reduced tournament for the second promotion to the Professional League. There will also be three relegations: the two worst teams in each zone plus the loser of a match between the two second-to-last teams in each zone.
