In the first encounter with the Los Angeles Rams since winning the Super Bowl two years ago, quarterback Cam Newton’s team did not manage to touchdown their own at 3:24 on Thursday evening. With three remaining games in the main round, the team from the east coast has a record of six wins and seven losses and is tenth in the AFC. Seven teams make it into the playoffs.
With their home win in NFC West, the Rams stay ahead of the Seattle Seahawks and have a good chance of winning the division title. Above all, the strong performance of the defense made the difference against the Patriots. Newton watched the final minutes of the game from the sideline when coach Bill Belichick sent substitute Jarrett Stidham onto the field.
