Slovak hockey players in Russia? It is a sign of ignorance, they can become useful…
It will be Rybár’s third season in a row in the KHL. In the 2021/22 season, he played for the Belarusian Dynamo Minsk, in the current season he was playing for Spartak Moscow, with whom he extended his contract and will continue to work in the capital of Russia next season, as reported on the website of the competition.
Rybár operates in Russia despite the fact that Slovakia is on their list of enemy countries and, on the contrary, the Russian regime is terrorist for Slovakia. In 2022, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic also issued a recommendation not to travel to Russia in connection with the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Whether Patrik Rybár will also appear in the Slovak national team and nomination for the World Championships in Riga is still questionable. The Slovak Ice Hockey Association (SZĽH) did not ban representing players from the KHL. Whether they will also appear in the nomination is still questionable.
