BRNO – Patrik Martinec is no longer the coach of Kometa Brno hockey players.

He resigned after three defeats in the opening three extra league matches. The last unit of the table announced it today on its website. The club management is negotiating the new form of the implementation team.

“Even though our paths diverge, I would like to thank the entire organization and, above all, wish Kometa well in the future.” said Martinec, who led Kometa since last December.

“When I look back on my engagement in Brno, I am primarily sorry for the result of last year’s quarter-finals and then, of course, the unsuccessful entry into this year, on the basis of which I decided to resign.” said the 52-year-old coach.

On Sunday, the hockey players of Brno will take on the ice of Mladá Boleslav, whose entry into the new season was also not very successful. After three rounds, the Central Bohemians have two points for Friday’s 2:1 win in Hradec Králové after separate raids.

Martinec experienced his first extra-league engagement as a head coach in Komet. Before that, he was an assistant in Sparta and České Budějovice.

Since March of last year, when club owner Libor Zábranský left the substitutes several times, he was already the third coach of the Brno team after Jiří Kalous and Martin Pešout.
