Patrik Holeček and Josef Kotěšovský awarded the Thalia Award!

Josef Kotěšovský is a legend of Laterna magiky, where he became famous as the Jolly Clown in the iconic Magic Circus, with whom he performed over 2,000 reruns! After ending his dancing career, he became a teacher and operational director of Laterna. His last significant role was in the production of Landscape of the Body, where he portrayed the Old Dancer.

Patrik Holeček is a proven mainstay of the National Theatre’s ballet company, where he interprets roles of the danseur noble type at a high level, as well as creations of the contemporary repertoire. As Franz, he shows his sense of humor in his pantomime dialogues with the lovely Swanilda. Their love fights are completely natural, readable and fun. He enjoys the role from the first time he enters the scene, processes every gesture in detail, and manages even the most difficult technical passages with clarity and ease. He is a sensitive partner in duets, his virtuosity dominates especially in the en l’air technique, which the choreography allows him to fully demonstrate in the final performance.

We also congratulate all the other awardees, including those we have the honor of meeting on the boards of the National Theatre, namely our soloist Peter Berger, who won the award for Dalibor, which he performed at the National Theater in Brno.
