Patrick Norman has successfully undergone heart surgery which will sideline him for a few days.
The 76-year-old singer-guitarist underwent surgery this morning at the Sacré-Coeur-de-Montréal hospital for a heart valve change.
This surgical intervention, necessary following a medical follow-up, forced the cancellation of the concerts that he was to present on May 6 and 7 at La Chapelle spectacles in Quebec.
“The operation went well. We are very happy and reassured,” said Martine Girard, president of Groupe À l’infini, which represents the country artist, during an email exchange.
On observation for the next 24 hours, Patrick Norman plans to be on his feet for the shows scheduled for May 12 and 13 at the Calypso in Jonquière.
Patrick Normand underwent emergency surgery at the age of 64 in June 2011. He had been operated on for coronary bypasses. A two-month recovery period followed.
The singer is currently touring across the province with songs from his latest album, recorded in Nashville, If we went there, which highlights his 50-year career. For tour dates: https://patricknorman.ca/spectacles/.
