Patrick Le Lay, former CEO of TF1, dies at 77

He was an emblematic figure of French television. At the head of TF1 for twenty years, from 1988 to 2008, Patrick Le Lay died at the age of 77, his son Laurent announced on Instagram on Wednesday.

“Yesterday was Saint Patrick’s Day. We could have wished you a few moments before you closed your eyes. Your fight against the disease will have been Homeric, ”he wrote on his personal account on Wednesday.

Born in Saint-Brieuc in June 1942 and asserted Breton, Patrick Le Lay had also been president of the Stade Rennais for two years, between 2010 and 2012.
