Patrick Galvin, an elderly man from Clonleigh, Newtownshandrum, passed away following a collision with a lorry on the main street in Charleville town on Friday. Local Fianna Fáil Councillor Ian Doyle expressed his sadness as he was a personal friend of Mr Galvin. The funeral will take place tomorrow, Monday. The area where the accident occurred is heavily congested, with up to 15,000 vehicles passing through every day. Gardai are appealing for witnesses to come forward, especially those with dash-cam footage. Mr Galvan was a beloved husband and father, survived by his brother and sisters.
