Within hours of meeting the May 15 deadline for users to accept the new WhatsApp conditions, Sin Tacos Ni Corbata spoke with Patricia Peña, director of the Protected Data Foundation to discuss the scope of these changes.
For the journalist, with these new conditions “WhatsApp is going to begin to be one more place of commercial contact as Facebook and Instagram are already today. They incorporate it into this Marketplace ecosystem ”.
“What this change is telling us is that WhatsApp is finally going to be available for marketing purposes. Therefore, it is very likely that on Monday or the other weeks we will begin to receive contacts from companies and services of different kinds that want to communicate through our WhatsApp ”, he added.
