Patricia Etnel: Time bomb in society is ready to explode

NPS parliamentarian Patricia Etnel has today again made himself heard on her Facebook page about, among other things, the demand from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to let go of the exchange rate in Suriname and the policy pursued by the government. She is not in favor of letting go because she believes it will be a real disaster for society.

President Chandrikapersad Santokhi announced on Saturday that there are nine measures to keep the course manageable. According to him, three are already in operation and the others will follow shortly. A decision will be taken in June if the course is abandoned.

“Letting go will be a real disaster for that society! Choose a different direction in this regard, a different policy, because this will be a disaster. And why? Our institutions are too weak, our control mechanisms are disastrous and that time bomb in society is ready to explode.

And certain developments e mik a people las bribi seriously one of them is the appointment policy that is very shameful and disrespectful towards society. And what I find is that there is a certain attitude of I do what I want, despite the many criticisms. Just deeply sad and yes suma after Patty no. But well in 2019 I said to the NDP group: what you have today you will not have tomorrow.

Society has the last word and with those unpopular decisions that are being taken, I would have a different attitude. But you need skin firi to understand how society views you and what the outcomes of your decisions can be for the future. Integrity, respect, justice, wisdom, skills and skin firi must be possessed in order to lead society in times of great difficulty.

Hint: the governments led by Venetian weren’t the best at everything, but certain decisions have worked. There is no need to reinvent the wheel. Bow to the People ”, says Etnel.
