The doctors at the CAT hospital made the decision to amputate both legs, from the knee down, to prevent the infection from spreading.

According to information, her health condition is considered improved with doctors being optimistic that they managed to limit the damage.
It is recalled that the student collapsed on the evening of Wednesday, February 21, in the area of the Department of Mathematics, where she studies.
The 20-year-old’s fellow students called an ambulance, which transported the girl to the University General Hospital of Patras, where she was immediately intubated, as her condition was particularly aggravated.
When the young lady had escaped the danger, she had been transferred to the pathology clinic of the Rio hospital. However, she developed problems with her legs, as a result of which the treating doctors decided to transfer her to the intensive care unit, where it was finally deemed necessary to amputate her.
