A need for information and psychological support

The general practitioner remains the health professional most consulted for atopic eczema, with 57% of patients turning to them first, an increase of 5 points compared to 2022. Dermatologists in private practice are arriving in second position (41%).

The barometer highlights a lack of information felt by 34% of patients to effectively manage their eczema on a daily basis. This figure reaches almost 37% in patients suffering from moderate to severe eczema. In addition, approximately a quarter of patients express the need for increased psychological support to cope with the mental repercussions of the illness.

While progress in treatment and care is undeniable, this study highlights the importance of a more global and personalized approach to atopic eczema. By integrating in particular better psychological support and reinforced communication between patients and healthcare professionals.
