EXCLUSIVE: At the end of January, PrahaIN.cz received information from several sources close to the current issue at IKEM that Tomáš V., a patient there, who received a new heart transplant five years ago, has police protection.
It is related to the threats made against him by an unknown perpetrator several weeks ago. The patient, who later appeared before the media at the IKEM site, did not deny the information.
“I cannot comment on this (security), I have a ban from the police,” he told PrahaIN.cz.
Even before that, it is necessary to recall the background. Last October, the police accused the then director of IKEM, Michal Stibork, of blackmailing doctors. Together with him, the doctor Jiří Malý and the head of the Department of Informatics Petr Raška also took away the resolution on the accusation. The group was supposed to intimidate the medical capacities of Ivan Netuka and Jan Pirek so that they would not go against the leadership. Otherwise, she threatened them with compromising materials.

Monsters!
“They are monsters. First they called me from an unknown number, then a man appeared in my garden. He was smaller, had gold rings on one hand. He was holding something in his other hand, I took three steps back, not knowing what was happening. He kept repeating that I should not go to Prague for a press conference, I was really afraid,” he confided to our editors.
However, by appearing and speaking at the press conference, the patient put even more pressure on himself. According to two sources in our editorial office, this resulted in an attack with stones or bricks that an unknown perpetrator threw into the mentioned man’s house at night. And that at a time when he should already have been assigned police protection.
“We have been dealing with the circumstances related to the information provided by you from the very beginning, of course we carefully evaluate all the information found,” Magdaléna Vlčková, head of the press department of the Regional Directorate of the Police of the Hradec Králové Region, confirmed the findings of our editorial office.
“However, due to the ongoing investigation, it is not possible for us to provide more information on the questions in question at this time,” she added.

The Jičín crime scene is of high quality
The editors turned to several police sources. According to them, the case is being investigated, among other things, by the Jičín Criminal Investigation Department. Colonel Petr Mucha and his deputy Václav Tichý, also a colonel, are at the head of the local area (territorial department).
“I know those people. They certainly don’t underestimate anything, I know the operatives, they have smart, careful and experienced people. Surely no one must think that if they are not sitting in Prague, they are doing so by idiots. I don’t know the progress of the investigation, but given the media attention I can’t imagine any negligence, it’s not about the ignorant, it’s about the professionals, they’ve done enough, I don’t want to say more,” said our high-ranking police source.
Our editors contacted the aforementioned patient Tomáš V. a few days ago. He just said thank you for asking how he was doing after our inquiry.
By that time, he should have already been assigned physical protection because of the described attack on the house, but also because of the previous intimidation.
“Then you understand that he will not prescribe active measures for you. In addition, I have to say that I have not encountered this kind of pressure in my career, he is a sick man, but obviously brave,” added our police source.
Health Minister Vlastimil Válek (TOP 09), under whose competence IKEM falls, added in this context that he believes that the police will quickly investigate the case.
