Patient Dies Hesitantly Rejected by 9 Hospitals, Brother: My Brother Suffers So Much

Mojokerto

Nur Ali (50) died after being rejected by 9 hospitals. Moreover, Nur Ali has difficulty getting oxygen in Mojokerto. In fact, this resident of Pacet Village/Sub-district is in critical condition because he is experiencing shortness of breath with oxygen saturation of only 45 percent.

Ali suddenly experienced shortness of breath on Sunday (25/7) at around 07.00 WIB. His oxygen saturation was only 45 percent when he was checked at the Pacet Health Center, Mojokerto Regency.

Accompanied by his older brother, Yeti Muliah (52), he was taken around looking for a hospital using an ambulance belonging to Kesimantengah Village, Pacet District. Ali survives only on oxygen from a 1 cubic meter canister in the ambulance.

“During the journey to find the hospital, I was still able to sit and chat because of the oxygen in the ambulance,” Yeti told detikcom, Tuesday (27/7/2021).

Unfortunately, the 9 hospitals in Mojokerto Regency and City that they visited all refused to treat Ali. Depletion of stock and rare oxygen and full treatment rooms are the reason for the hospital.

They are Sumberglagah Hospital, Prof. Dr. Soekandar Hospital, Arofah Hospital, Sido Waras Hospital, Gatoel Hospital, Hasanah Hospital, Dr. Wahidin Sudiro Husodo Hospital, RA Basoeni Hospital, and Kartini Hospital.

According to Yeti, Ali again suffered when the oxygen in the ambulance ran out on the way to Kartini Hospital, Mojosari at around 10.30 WIB. At that time, the ambulance was passing through the Bangsal District, Mojokerto Regency.

“My sister is suffering a lot, short of breath, hot. I took her to the Kartini Hospital for a swab test, but it was rejected because her condition had collapsed so she didn’t have time for a swab test,” he explained.

Yeti decided to take Ali back to the Pacet Health Center in hopes of getting oxygen. This mother of four children again had to swallow the bitter pill. Because the puskesmas officers refused to take care of his younger sibling on the pretext that the oxygen had run out.

“I was angry because before leaving to look for a hospital oxygen was still there. When we returned the reason was that there was no oxygen. Finally I took it home,” he said.

Even so, the Yeti refuses to give up on saving his sister’s life. He asked his children to hunt for oxygen. However, Ali died at his home at around 11.30 WIB before oxygen arrived.

Yeti and his family washed and buried Ali’s body themselves. None of his neighbors dared to approach for fear that Ali would die from the COVID-19.

“We buried them in the usual way (without prokes) in the public cemetery of North Pacet Hamlet. Until now, no officers have come to do the tracing,” he said.
