Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Covid-19 corona virus vaccine made in China is likely to be ready for public use by November 2020. This is a statement from the China Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as quoted by Reuters, Tuesday (15/9/2020).
China has four Covid-19 vaccines that have entered final phase clinical trials. Three of them are known to have been offered to workers at the frontline against the coronavirus in an emergency use program in July 2020.
Biosafety Chief Guizhen Wu said phase three clinical trials were progressing smoothly and the vaccine would be ready for use in November or December.
He also said he had experienced no abnormal side effects in recent months after receiving the experimental vaccine in April. Unfortunately he did not explain what vaccine was injected into him.
Units of state pharmaceutical giant China National Pharmaceutical Group (Sinopharm) and Sinovac Biotech are developing three vaccines under the state’s emergency use program. The fourth Covid-19 vaccine being developed by CanSino Biologics was approved for use by the Chinese military in June.
Sinopharm said in July that its vaccine could be ready for public use by the end of this year following the completion of Phase 3 trials.
