The upcoming film ‘Pathaan’ is by all accounts premiered in the new year.
In the action thriller, directed by Siddharth Anand, we find John Abraham (50) and Deepika Padukone (36) in the lead roles – the latter is now raining criticism.
Even before the premiere, the film caused outrage and anger, with many calling for the film to be stopped.

It all boils down to the fact that the first musical feature of ‘Pathaan’ has set the minds of the Hindu community on fire.
Many believe that the music scene is in stark contrast to what Hindu and Muslim values stand for, this is because Padukone wears clothing that seems offensive and disrespectful.

In the musical sequence for the upcoming blockbuster, the 36-year-old wears bathing suits and an array of saffron-colored bathing suits, which many feel is a shocking and unnecessary choice.
Padukone, who is one of India’s highest paid actresses, has several accolades to her credit including three Filmfare Awards.
The 36-year-old is also included in lists of India’s most popular and influential people and was named one of the most influential people in the world by TIME magazine in 2018.
Many therefore feel that the actress should be aware of her responsibility and beg her to withdraw from the film.
Legal steps
A petition was filed in a court in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar on Friday as several say Pandukone is helping to cause harm to religion, as well as offending the religious sentiments of Hindus in the Beshram Rang scene.

Home Minister Narottam Mishra also voiced his objections to the controversial scene earlier this week.
– The feelings of Hindu and Muslim community are hurt by this film. We will do everything possible to prevent the release of the film. The clothes they wear are offensive – the song also reflects a very dirty mentality. Changes need to be made otherwise we will have to discuss whether this film should be shown in Madhya Pradesh.

The hover person himself, on the other hand, seems to be taking the criticisms in overwhelming stride, and has shared several short video clips of the controversial scene on his social media.
She was spotted at the Mumbai airport on Friday, where she grinned ear to ear in front of the paparazzi photographers in attendance, but chose not to answer questions regarding the criticism of her.
