Path of Ascension the next event in LoL? Everything that is known about it

One of the announcements from Riot Games may suggest that a new mode will appear in League of Legends.

The developers have published a description of changes to League of Legends: Wild Rift, the mobile version of LoL (see: Patch 2.1 release for Wild Rift – what’s coming in the near future?). Among the revealed novelties, you can find something that has not appeared before in the traditional version of Riot – Path of Ascension mode. What’s this about?

Event – The Path of Exaltation

Ascension itself is known to all League of Legends players for sure. It is, of course, the mode that takes place on the Crystal Scar map. This event is related to Shurima and the Ancient Ascended – Xerath, who is the main boss of the mode.

The new teaser from Wild Rift, however, speaks of a different elevation. Because not related to Shurima, but to Mount Targon.

The official patch notes for Wild Rift read:

What awaits you atop Targon? Find your paths. Climb up.

What could this mean? As you know, Mount Targon is the most powerful peak in Runeterra. Many League of Legends heroes are associated with it, such as Leona, Diana, Pantheon, Taric and Aurelion Sol. Lore fans know that this peak is strongly associated with Solari and the cult of the sun.

So far, it is not known whether the new mode will take place on a different map, or perhaps it will take place on Summoner’s Rift. It is possible that Path of Ascension will not appear in LoL on PC and will be an exclusive mode for the mobile version of this title.

It remains to be hoped that, despite everything, the developers have also prepared something for computer players who would probably be happy to introduce a completely new mode.
