In his new book, Pate Mustajärvi opens up about his thoughts on life and the Popeda band.
It ended with a bang – 46 years of Popeda (Docendo) – in the new book, Pauli “Pate” Mustajärvi recalls his career as a rocker and his last year as a soloist of Popeda.
Mustajärvi, 67, has kept a diary of his gig memories. The book covers almost every festival gig in 2023 and the emotions they evoke. The book is written by Mustajärvi’s wife, Tiina Mustajärvi.

Before the Tuusulan gig, Mustajärvi gave an interview to a local newspaper. In the interview, he said that he admires the former prime minister of Finland, Sanna Marini. Mustajärvi says in the book that “älämölö” was born from the opinion.
Italicized passages are excerpts from the book.
Let me state that again. I sincerely take my hat off to Sanna Marin, because no matter what you think about politics or no matter what direction you lean politically, Marin showed that she is really tough in an extremely demanding position.

According to Mustajärvi, Marin has been brave in her opinions and has commented on world events “straightforwardly without bowing down to anyone”.
These qualities – courage, directness and unyieldingness – are traditionally considered masculine, and therefore when they are represented by a young attractive woman, a manly man perceives it as a threat. Or experience? I thought it was great. And it was unheard of even internationally that the country’s heaviest ministerial portfolios were carried by young women. Hello guys!
