In 2023, José Antonio and Juan Carlos broke their second world record, after descending from the top of San Cristóbal Hill, dominating the soccer ball to the Municipality of Rímac. The first was on the heights of Cusco from the Plaza de Armas to the Sacsayhuamán Fortress, at 3600 meters high.
Without any failure or rest, José Antonio (58) and Juan Carlos Figueroa Wong (55), better known as the Patadita Brothers, reached a new record after making 10,000 touches of the ball as a duo with pure little heads at the Los Jardines de la station. Line 1 of the Lima Metro in San Juan de Lurigancho (SJL). With this new achievement, there are a total of 42 records for ball control at the national and international level.
“We have 35 years of sporting experience. This has been our 42nd milestone, we prepared a lot to obtain it,” said older brother José Antonio, very proud, after achieving the feat. He added that his goal is to continue promoting sports and healthy living among children and adults in the country.
With the support of the watchmen of the Municipality of San Juan de Lurigancho, they began the challenge on January 31 at 4:20 pm at the train station amid harangues from the public who encouraged them to continue, despite their notorious fatigue. “It took us an hour and 40 minutes. Previously we have made more touches, but in terms of mileage. This was a different challenge, because we were in one place (at the station), without moving. It was complex and added to the embarrassment felt by the high temperatures in Lima,” said Juan Carlos.
The Patadita Brothers do not stop and announced that they have set themselves a new challenge in the month of love: to travel 10 kilometers dominating the ball, from the San Carlos station to the municipality of SJL. It will be on February 18 in honor of the most populated district of Lima for its 57 years of creation. Although it will be difficult, they are sure that they will reach their goal.
