Liputan6.com, Jakarta The Pasuruan Regency, East Java, asks the public to be alert to the epidemic DBD which is haunting residents in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Pasuruan District Health Office noted that there were 17 residents who had tested positive for dengue so far. However, there have been no reports of residents who died as a result of this case DHF in Pasuruan.
Head of Health Office Pasuruan Regency Ani Latifah said vigilance was very important as an anticipatory step.
“This is because the spread of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is very fast in the rainy season,” he said as quoted by Antara, Thursday (27/1/2022).
He said the public was aware of dengue fever by anticipating dengue mosquito larvae so that they would not grow and develop around their homes.
He called on the public to actively promote mosquito nest eradication (PSN) activities around their respective residences.
In addition, implementing the 5 M, namely draining the bathtub, closing water reservoirs and burying used items that have the potential to become breeding grounds for mosquitoes, as well as discarding used cans and putting betta fish or abate powder into every puddle.
So far, various efforts have been made by the Pasuruan District Health Office to prevent DHF. Namely asking jumantik cadres to immediately move to monitor the spread of dengue mosquito larvae around their respective RT / RW.
“Keep the cleanliness around the place of residence, and in this kind of weather, you must maintain good health. Eat nutritious food, exercise and get enough rest,” he said.
