At the age of 83, Pastor Alfred streicher died on Thursday, December 2nd, who was pastor from 1976 to 1988 in the parish of Marktsteinach with Waldsachsen and the branches Abersfeld and Lffelsterz. The funeral and requiem will take place on Tuesday, December 7th, at 2.30 p.m. at the Kreuzfriedhof in Zeil.
The very popular clergyman always exuded a cheerful cheerfulness. streicher comes from Peienberg, Upper Bavaria, and turned to theological studies in Benediktbeuren and Turin after graduating from high school. In 1967 he was ordained a priest in Benediktbeuren. Here and in Munich he worked as a chaplain and in other youth institutions of the Salesian religious order.
He entered the service of the Dizese Wrzburg in 1975 and one year later took over the parish of Marktsteinach. He was then appointed pastor of Zeil and also held the position of Caritas pastor in the Ebern deanery until 2000, for which he was awarded the Caritas cross in gold.
In 2005 he was retired and chose Hafurt as his place of residence. She made him an honorary citizen for his services to the city of Zeil. In his retirement he gladly took over church services in the parish community Schonungen, Marktsteinach, Zeil or in and around Hafurt, as “pastor within reach”, as he once explained with a smile during a conversation.
In his former parish in Marktsteinach, the faithful of the parish communities Maria Knigin vom Kolben and Sankt Sebastian am Main are invited to a soul service for the deceased on Sunday, January 9th, at 9 a.m. in the parish church of Marktsteinach.
