Pastor Gilbert Lumoindong’s son, Garren Lumoindong, is in the spotlight because he invited his congregation to give alms or send a lot. Garren even asked that the money be sent to an account number.
Launching the Twitter account @PartaiSocmed, Saturday (20/4), Garren said in his speech that when people want to receive blessings from God, the congregation must send.
“Now, remember there are two things, not only is God blessing you, but we will be seeding. Now I want you to write down the amount you want to send on paper,” Garren said.
Garren also reminded his congregation to use their sense of taste when it comes to what they donate to charity. This is related to the belief in his heart.
Next, he asked the congregation to pick up the designated paper they were writing on and then songs and prayers sung by Garren in particular. However, in the middle of the speech, Garren said that the amount written earlier was immediately transferred to the prepared account.
The public found Garren’s actions very strange. Pros and cons emerged.
“So who is the account for the investment? Is it to pay off Garren’s debt? Why is there a time limit?” said one netizen.
“It is rather sad to see some servants of God who use the church and its congregation as a family business. It seems like every church needs to examine their finances, right?” one netizen suspected.
“Perhaps this is just one of the many unscrupulous pastors who talk about money…money…money. If you want to see a crazier priest playing on Pastermamon’s Instagram, I hope you won’t be surprised, said another.
Recently, his father, Gilbert Lumoindong, has also been in the public spotlight. Gilbert made the public hot because he compared zakat and tithes in one of his speeches.
