The Ministry of Foreign Relations (SRE) announced that suspends the broadcast of mexican passports and the activities in their delegations of Mexicali and Tijuana, located in Baja California, as well as those of Naucalpan de Juárez and Toluca de Lerdo in the State of Mexico.
The suspension of the travel procedure will be between December 26, 2020 and January 10, 2021. However, the period could be extended if conditions are not favorable due to the health crisis.
“The objective is to safeguard the well-being of both users and public servants in our delegations. Depending on the risk traffic light issued by the federal or state Ministry of Health, the service may be restarted or suspended in the delegations, ”the Ministry said in a statement.

Affected citizens who need a emergency passport can write to email [email protected]. Only people who urgently need a passport for health, academic, work or family reunification reasons will be served.
The tourist trips They are not considered an emergency, even if the hotel or other travel attractions have already been paid for.
These suspensions of the Mexican passport process are added to that of Mexico City, where the renewal procedures were paused and the first time until further notice.
The SRE reminded users not to make payments or deposits to personal accounts or in convenience stores to obtain an appointment to process their passport. These actions are a fraud.
What if you have already paid for the passport process?
If you have already paid for the passport process, you should know that the payment of rights made has a valid for five years from the realization of it. So it will be valid when they resume your appointment. The SRE will notify when they do.
Process the passport in another state
Appointments can still be made to process the Mexican passport in the delegations that do not have suspension.
