“Can I park or not?”: the question in front of a driveway is served, but before asking it we will have to observe a detail
The challenge of finding a good parking space in the midst of a herd of alleys, crossroads, houses, commercial activities is open in all Italian cities: yes, parking really seems like a job. Often the car rather than parked is to be considered “stuck”, being a few centimeters from poles, walls, fences or doors of other cars.
Whoever gives up loses the challenge and…risk a fine. Illegal parking leads in the vast majority of cases to fines or even worse to forced removals, if the car is considered a major obstacle to the movement of pedestrians, trams, taxis or simply other means. But What’s one of the biggest hurdles for the classic parker? The driveway!
These are spaces and outlets that allow the transition from a private place to public access. Only the body that owns the road (such as the Municipality) can issue the authorisation to expose the driveway. Otherwise, you cannot deny someone the right to park their car in front of a garage or delimit an area by considering it private in all respects.
“Do it yourself” driveway: worth nothing
