Queen Mathilde also thought the trip with her daughter was a historic moment. “My husband and I introduced the trip to Elisabeth last year and she was immediately enthusiastic. It was very special,” says the queen. “Elisabeth and I really enjoyed this. She has learned so much.” About the difficult work of the Belgian and Egyptian archaeologists, for example. “They work in a lot of dust, small spaces where it is warm, but full of passion. I hope to be able to talk to them more in the future.”
