Al-Marsad Newspaper: Shawqi Bahamdeen, a retired civilian pilot in Jeddah, narrated the story of his passion for the sea 50 years ago, leaving his job in aviation and heading to drive a boat.
Bahamdeen said to Al-Arabiya TV: My brother and I were going to the sea and wished to drive a boat and take a walk, adding: We bought a bouncy boat that was inflated for 250 riyals. We used to come to the beach to inflate the boat and row and fish.
And he continued: We used to come every afternoon, and one day he gave us an iron boat and we rode it with a motor, and after a while I graduated from the university and became a plane captain, indicating that flying was his passion and needed accuracy and attention, and after retirement I returned again to the sea.
And he continued: The atmosphere of the sea, to which I am accustomed, causes me psychological comfort and activity, explaining that he has been at sea for 50 years.
