The people who snatched money were captured on camera images. They will be criminally prosecuted. The police speak of a life-threatening action because there is always a risk that an explosive device could go off after an explosion.

The explosion in the German border town of Herzogenrath took place over the Whitsun weekend, in the night from Sunday to Monday.

Great havoc

The explosion caused a lot of havoc. For example, fragments were scattered far in the area and the bangs of the squat could be heard for miles around. Photos show that a side wall was knocked out by the bang. Witnesses reported to the US that the suspects fled to Limburg on scooters. No suspects have been arrested yet.

The German police are investigating the case.
