Passengers cannot leave the building with their luggage for more than two hours
Panic and increasingly high tension at the capital’s airport. The reason is that people have been stuck on it for two hours already, waiting for their luggage.
In fact, the nightmare started earlier, when their flight – FB438 from Frankfurt to Sofia, took off with an hour and a half delay. The passengers did not receive information about the reason for the delay, but they were relieved when they already set foot on home soil.
However, their problems do not stop there. They told BLITZ that they had been standing for two hours waiting for their luggage, which never showed up.
“No one is telling us anything, no matter how much we try to get some information. We are stuck here, no one wants to give us even water,” BLITZ readers share.
Word among passengers is that the cause of the delay is a locked luggage door that officials cannot open.
BLITZ Agency sought Sofia Airport for comment. From flight information, they did not want to comment on the case.
Three ground operators work at Sofia Airport. Staff meet and greet passengers, check-in, receive, transport, load and unload baggage on the aircraft, deliver it to its destination and look for it if it is lost at the destination.
The companies that operate on the territory of the capital airport are Swissport, Gold Air Nandling and “SOF Connect” JSC. In this case, it is clear from the flight information that the passengers were served by Swissport Bulgaria. The reasons for the significant delay in their suitcases are still unknown.
