A passenger on an IndiGo Airlines flight last week tried to open the emergency exit during a flight from Guwahati in eastern India to Agartala.
According to the online newspaper India Today, there were 180 passengers on board the plane.
The man (41) must have had a seat by the emergency exit. However, he was unable to get the door open.

“Another passenger next to him must have tried to intervene, but the man continued to try to open the door,” writes the news website.
Panic must have occurred on the plane, which was in the air when the incident took place, it is further said.
The 41-year-old is said to have been transported to an empty seat by fellow passengers, where he remained seated until landing.
The passenger was arrested when the flight arrived at Agartala. Preliminary investigation shows that the man was under the influence of narcotics.

A video filmed on the plane is now going viral, showing the man being led out through the aisle by cabin crew.
– According to standard procedure, the passenger – who the cabin crew believe was out of control – was handed over to the police on arrival. There was never any danger to safety on board the plane. We apologize if the incident has affected other passengers, says the airline IndiGo Airlines in a statement.
Twice in two days
The incident took place a day after another Indian man tried to open the emergency exit before departure on an IndiGo Airlines flight between Delhi and Chennai in India.
India Today reports that a police investigation is underway into both incidents.

The incident took place on May 26 on an Asiana Airlines flight that was on its way from the South Korean island of Jeju to the big city of Daegu in South Korea.
A man in his 30s was immediately arrested after landing today, according to the South Korean news agency Yonhap.
