Passengers Appreciate Help from Civil Guard in Madrid-Levante High-Speed Line Incident

Toledo, Oct 14 (EFE).- The passengers of the trains on the Madrid-Levante high-speed line who were detained this Friday in Monteagudo de las Salinas (Cuenca), as a result of the confluence of several incidents, have appreciated the help that the Civil Guard lent them.

After the stoppage of these trains, Civil Guard agents moved to the place where the convoys were stopped, in an open field area, to provide help to the travelers who were trapped.

The travelers thanked the Civil Guard with applause and cheers for the help that the police officers provided them, as seen in a video released this Saturday by the armed institute.

The civil guards participated in a device that was launched to help the hundreds of affected passengers, who were transported to a safe area where they were picked up by buses that took them to the Fernando Zóbel station in Cuenca.

In the video you can see how one of the rescued travelers commented: “Yesterday was your day and today looks”, in reference to the festival of the Virgen del Pilar, patron saint of the Civil Guard, which was celebrated last Thursday. EFE
