JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – The Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas) Polda Metro Jaya has examined the witness of a passenger who was beside the driver of a mercy sedan when he hit a cyclist at the Hotel Indonesia (HI) roundabout.
From the testimony of passengers, the MDA suspect was tired while driving, so he was negligent and injured the cyclist.
Head of the Sub-Directorate of Law Enforcement (Kasubdit Gakkum) of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, AKBP Fahri Siregar, said that five witnesses had been examined in connection with this accident.
Fahri said that the evidence and statements of the witnesses were also deemed sufficient to complete the case file.
According to Fahri, in this case it was clear that the driver of a mercy sedan had a hit-and-run.
Because after the incident, the driver fled and did not try to help the victim or report to the police. Fahri revealed that the MDA suspect fled because of panic.
MDA is now in police custody for this accident.
