Xinhua News Agency, Manila, July 27 (Reporter Yan Jie and Wang Xiaowei) The spokesperson of the Philippine Coast Guard confirmed on the 27th that at least 21 people were killed when a passenger ship capsized in the waters near Aonang Town, Binan, Rizal Province that afternoon.

Philippine Coast Guard spokesperson Armando Balilo confirmed in an interview with a local TV station that the passenger ship headed for Talim Island, the largest lake in the Philippines that day. At about 13:00 local time, the passenger ship was hit by strong winds, and the passengers ran to one side of the ship in a panic, causing the hull to lose its balance and eventually capsized in the waters near Binan Ao Nang Town, Rizal Province.

The Rizal provincial police said that at least 21 people drowned in the accident and another 40 people were rescued safely.

Affected by Typhoon Dusurui, many places in the Philippines have experienced heavy rainfall in recent days, causing floods and landslides.
