“Passenger plane forced to turn back with flames spewing from engine after hitting flock of geese”

A passenger plane encountered a terrifying incident when it hit a flock of geese during an American Airlines flight 1958 to Phoenix. Flames erupted from the engine shortly after takeoff, and the plane was seen heading back to Ohio’s John Glenn Columbus International Airport in less than an hour. Eyewitnesses claim that a flock of geese had become caught in the engine, causing the flames to spew out. The plane landed safely, and the passengers were immediately put on another aircraft to continue with their journey. Although no injuries were reported, the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the cause of the fire. This incident is not the first of its kind for the Boeing 737. A similar mid-air fire occurred, believed to have been triggered by a bird strike, in Cuba. Passengers recorded the event using their mobile phones, where the cabin filled with smoke, and oxygen masks were utilized.
